I'm feeling inspired, what about you???

Hello Everyone!!!

It's so good to be back with all of you!  Let's not waste any time, shall we?

Spring is back in NYC and it just does something to me.  The weather is inspiring and I'm bursting with creativity.  It just amazes me how the ideas continue to flow out onto my sketch pad after all these years (the good Lord never let's me down!).  This always seems to happen when the sun is setting and the warm, fresh breeze emerges from the powder blue skies and captivates my very being.

Everything and anything seems possible and I'm ready to overcome whatever obstacle gets in my way!

I always reminisce back to when my brother and I were kids and my mother would dress us up as if we were twins (even though we weren't) and take us to Coney Island.  This time of year, like clock work, brings me back to my childhood when it seemed that the world and anything I wanted was right there in front of me - all I had to do was reach out and GRAB it.

Has there been something you've been putting off?  Something that you've been wanting to do for a long time and have been procrastinating for whatever reason?  Maybe its joining the gym, or signing up for pilates or yoga.  It could be as simple as reading a great book or as hard as reaching out to an estranged family member.  Whatever it is, take that leap and push forward.  No thinking required.  When we think we begin to find excuses, many excuses, not to…it's just not going to work this time.

Life is too, too short to make excuses!  It's time to get inspired and act on it.  It's now or never, Simonton Say's.

Till next time.

Love,

George

  1. George, thank you for this blog - and for the opportunities we get to see you on QVC. You are so wonderful to let us in to what your students must experience by teaching us how the craft comes to be. Also, your persona is so very warm and lovely - you make all us women feel appreciated, regardless of the size on the back of the tag. Thank you. :)

  2. I'm so glad to see you blogging again! I hope your time off was as wonderful as you deserve, George. As always, your blogs are inspiring. Two sentences in this one jumped out at me: "No thinking required. When we think, we make excuses." That is so true! I tend to overthink everything, and it makes me an expert procrastinator. So, thanks for sharing that. I'm still working on what I feel inspired to do next. :) Thanks, George, and have a wonderful week.

    1. That's right, Janice, don't over think. I myself do the same and have to keep reminding myself to just do it. When I write these blogs it's for myself as well. It's sort of a form of personal therapy if you will. I had a nice vacation, but missed blogging. I am happy to be back and glad your here for the ride. Have a blessed weekend, George. Xoxo

  3. George you inspire me! Not only your beautiful designs( and they are all top of the line gorgeous), but your gentle way that you treat and respect women! You really know what looks. Good on us, and always brings out the femininity in us! Spring has always meant" new beginnings" for me, when my lilacs bloom it touches my heart, when the birds come around my bird feeder I can watch for hours! Continue to be blessed George, as you bless all of us, you are a kind and living man, I appreciate you

  4. Inspiring blog, thank you, George. Perhaps I will finally start my book or pick up my pencil and see if I can still sketch. Been putting off doing both for a very long time. Guess I am afraid I have lost my talent and don't want to prove it true. I so enjoy seeing designers sharing their pieces on the Q. Their creativity and passion fill me with delight. Watching you I can sense your deep desire to create beauty in design and intense need to share your knowledge especially with the details of garment construction. I just soak that up like a thirsty sponge. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with the next generation.
    Bright Blessings /\

  6. Very inspiring words this week! Spring has a way of lightening my load. Making me want to be more productive. Physically, I am disabled, so I must restrict my activities, but I just have to get more creative with how I accomplish my productivity. I purchased a new skein of yarn and a new crochet hook to begin some simple projects to recall how to crochet. I found that I can crochet several rows while laying back in my least pain-producing position. Now that is a step forward! A little something productive while watching tv or listening to music. Maybe I will begin books on tape while crocheting!!

Thank you, George, for sharing your thoughts and inspirations with us. It means a lot that you trust us with your thoughts. Have a great weekend!!

  7. Hi my Georgie Porgie (I always call you that) thank you for this blog, yes, I finally cut out all of my relaxed hair two weeks ago tomorrow and I am completely natural. Do you know what confidence it takes to carry off a TWA (teeny weeny afro)? Oh my word, I am feeling inspired, it took a moment, but I am okay now and yes, Spring is inspiring me in so many ways. Thanks for sharing your inspiring moments. Be Well
