LOVE YOUR YOURSELF AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!!

WELCOME TO THE SIMONTON SAY'S BLOG

I wanted an outlet where I can rant, rave, vent, teach, laugh, etc., etc...So that's what I'm gonna do here at the Simonton Say's blog.

I've been designing for almost 50 years now, can you believe it???
I sure can't.  That would make me…oh, come on people, I'm not giving my age.  But aging gracefully is what I'm all about.  And so should you.   I'm not going to name names, but what is it with all this needing to stay young and looking young craze?  I'm all for creams and moisturizers, but that's as far as anyone should go, in my humble opinion.

Ladies, gent's, fashionistas, fans and friends, love yourself from the inside out and you'll make your raggedy old pajamas look runway ready!  Okay, well maybe not runway ready, but you get the point.  I love to make my ladies look and feel fabulous, but I also want you all to feel the same on the inside too!

So wake up every morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself "I love you,"  Simonton Say's.

Till next time.

Love,

George

  1. So happy to read your blog, George. Speaking of pajamas...what are your thoughts on the trend of wearing pajama pants as pants? You know, those ugly logo encrusted,Hello Kitty imprinted baggy leisure pants that for some reason young women(who should have all the energy in the world) can't seem to get out of long enough to put on a pair of jeans? Around here they even wear big fuzzy slippers with them when you see them at the grocery store. Maybe it's a California thing because of the milder weather but I find it sad.

    1. Hello my darling - Thank you for being the first to comment on my very first post!!! It's so exciting!
It may be more of a west coast, California, warm weather thing. First, it's too cold here in, NYC for that kind of fashion statement…right now anyway. I am aware of this trend and thats what it is, a TREND. They come and go. On the other hand, young girls will be young girls. As long as they are not going to a cocktail party like that, lol, I'm good. XOXO

  2. It is a hard thing eh George, to tell yourself that you love yourself .. tough thing to do. Especially, for women, us women, have more of a tendency to take care of others .. and when we do look in the mirror, we see how we have aged and ask ourselves (with more confidence then ever) do I still have it and I say "yep" .. George is here to make it possible! Today, I received your George Simonton Milky Knit Button Front Top with Ruffle Detail A199777 in the Blue! George, I love it .. now all I have to do is find a sun hat of some sort! ... George thanks for being there for us!

    1. Gloria - That's the spirit! Aging should be a beautiful journey and not looked at as some bad disease. Our society is saturated and bombarded with photo shopped models and celebrities. They have all us feeling bad about ourselves so we all go out and buy all these products that don't work. Make starting the day with Loving Yourself a mantra! We have all these bad habits. Let's start to create some GOOD habits.
Thank you for all your support and for loving my designs!!! Best, George XOXO

  4. George, I'm so thrilled to see you blogging and communicating with us on social media! You are such a positive, warm person, and that is a welcome addition to my day! Thanks for the reminder to love ourselves -- sometimes that's not the easiest thing to do, but we need to do more of that and less beating ourselves up. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts in future blogs!

  5. George, you are helping me get through difficult health issues that my husband of almost 40 years is having. And speaking of PJ's, we have young men come in daily to lift my husband from bed to wheelchair, etc. They come way to early for me to be functioning. The last month, I have started showering at night, putting on crystal knit pants and usually a milky knit turtleneck under a heather sweater of yours then laying down to sleep with a quilt. Come morning, I can immediately start what is needed and look unwrinkled and pulled together. Thanks.

  7. George you are absolutely right! But I do think women are more judgmental on women then men are, I also believe men, carry a whole different attitude about themselves, and society creates these issues on both side of the coin, For example as men age it is considered distinguished looking - not for women, For instance, lets say you see a woman walking with a french roll in her hair, she turns around and she is older, that hair style aged her even more, if a young woman wears the french roll .. oi la la! This is what makes you great George, teaching women the boundaries to what to wear for our age and compliments us, And sometimes George, I like being a wall flower and just being happy with me LOL! Imagine us running around in hot pants LOL ... no don't imagine us! Ciao George!
